The magnetic behavior of stainless steels varies greatly, ranging from paramagnetic (nonmagnetic) is fully austenitic grades to hard or permanent magnetic behavior in the hardened martensitic grades. Stainless steels have not utilized in widespread as magnetic materials since their magnetic capability is almost always inferior to conventional magnetic materials.
The magnetic stainless steel powder is used in almost all types of applications and industries. Typical areas of use include piping systems, heat exchangers, tanks and process vessels for the food, chemical, pharmaceutical, pulp and paper, and other process industries. The magnetic stainless steel is used in equipment for cryogenic applications. Examples are tanks, heaters, evaporators and other equipment for handling condensed gases such as liquid nitrogen.
Magnetic stainless Steel powder is employed in high-temperature applications or equipment designed for elevated temperature service. Steels are characterized by high strength, good toughness, very good corrosion resistance in general and excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking and corrosion fatigue.
Magnetic stainless steel powder: These steels have distinct applications such as hot water tanks in the breweries, pulp storage towers in the pulp and paper industry, tanks for storage of chemicals in the chemical process industry and tank farms in tank terminals in the transportation industry. These can also be used in water with moderately high levels of chlorides in applications where there is a danger of stress corrosion cracking. Low alloyed ferritic stainless steels are also applied in mild environments where freedom from maintenance is sought or where a ‘non-rusting’ material is needed.
Magnetic stainless steel powder: It is suitable for steel for roofing material for airports due to its low glare reflectance to keep pilots from being blinded. Due to its properties, it is a perfect thermal reflectance material. Stainless steel is quite frequently employed for pedestrians and for road bridges. A product form of stainless steel is utilized tubes, plates, or reinforcing bars.
