Vanadium also does not easily absorb neutrons because of this it has some applications in the nuclear power industry. It is employed as a mordant, a material that permanently fixes dyes to fabrics. Vanadium pentoxide is also employed as a catalyst in certain chemical reactions and in the fabrication of ceramics.
