Zinc Nanoparticles usually insoluble in water and appears as a white powder. ZnO has a relatively large direct bandgap at room temperature because of this pure ZnO is colorless and transparent. This semiconductor shows several favorable properties: good transparency, wide bandgap, high electron mobility, strong room-temperature luminescence, etc. These nanoparticles manifest antibacterial, anti-corrosive, antifungal and UV filtering properties.

Zinc nanoparticles also widely employed in various cosmetic products for instance sunscreen products while it acts as an invisible obstacle which scatters UV radiation away from the skin.
