Molybdenum Nanopowder nanodots or nanopowder are black high surface area particles. Nanoscale Molybdenum Particles are typically 50 – 100 nanometers (nm) with specific surface area (SSA) in the 1 – 5 m²/g range. Nano Molybdenum Particles are also available in Ultra high purity and high purity and coated and dispersed forms. They are also available as dispersion.

Molybdenum Nanopowder is toxic in excess quantities. It occurs in various oxidation states of minerals. It has low water solubility, and hence it can be used for high-temperature and high-pressure applications. Due to its toxicity, Mo Nanoparticles should be sealed in vacuum and stored in cool and dry room.

Molybdenum Nanopowder have applications in Metal machining additives, adding 1-4% Mo-nanopowder to stainless steel can make stainless steel improve anticorrosive capability in corrosive environments. In Electron industry, mainly molybdenum nanoparticles are used in making high-power vacuum valve, heater tube, X-Ray tube, and many more. Also used in Wood machining, Catalysts, Coatings, Cutting tools, hard alloys, High-temperature lubrication, Microelectronics films etc.

Molybdenum Nanopowder is a transition metal oxide with unusual metal-like electrical conductivity and high catalytic activity toward reforming hydrocarbons. The synthesis techniques used to fabricate nanoparticles in a variety of morphologies and particle sizes. These nanoparticles are used in coatings.  Coatings are extensively use to paint the walls, doors and windows and provide a protective layer which is bound to the base material to produce a surface of the desired protective or functional properties. Nanotechnology is being applied to paints to obtain the coatings having self healing capabilities and corrosion protection under insulation. It has been a favored dry lubricant for aerospace applications due to its excellent lubricity under high load.
